AP Hetalia Ireland 1916 by Tabikat AP Hetalia Ireland 1916 by Tabikat
Ireland, 1916, Irish Volunteer Uniform and flag during the Easter Rising.

First off, I just want to say I just wanted to draw the Uniform as I really liked that uniform in particular.

My hand started cramping up half-way through this thus why the uniform looks kind of icky, also, I hate drawing hats. The only thing I like about this is the eyes and the badge on the hat, I see way too many problems with this to count.

Anyway, the Easter Rising is a lot to talk about so I'll keep this one short, in 1916 during Easter week, Patrick Pearse and the Volunteers, along with James Connolly and the Irish Citizen Army, gathered together and started taking over various buildings only in Dublin. At first they met with little British resistance as the British intelligence failed at the time, however as the week progressed, more and more British soliders came into Ireland and a lot of Irish citizens would lose their lives. The Easter Rising planned by the Irish Republican Brotherhood was virtually confined to Dublin. This was the opening act of the Irish War for Independence.

The Easter Rising was not supported by public opinion in Ireland, nevertheless it happened, and the turmoil caused eventually led to the Irish War of Independence, this was a guerrilla war, in which Irish rebels fought with British government forces. It took place from about 21 January, 1919 to 11 July, 1921.

This is actually my favorite Irish army uniform and I'm going to draw it again by hand when I can.

Erin belongs to me

He's Ireland's son since North Ireland became a separate part when Ireland split from the UK. (N.I is still part of the UK) People will comment about Ulster but that was just apart of Ireland (Eire) until later. Ireland became the Republic of Ireland after so people refer to the whole Isle as Ireland but the parts R.O.I and N.I.

Yes, unfortunately research can only go so far though I am open to corrections and additions if one has them. I wish more books and articles were avaliable to us here for the history of Ireland. Also, this is kind of old and I haven't checked back on it so I might have fixed some, anyway, thank you very much.
